It all begins with a sketch.
Every woodblock print I create starts here and
transforms along the way throughout the process.

Carving the block
~
~

'Loosening up' the ink to get it to the right viscosity
~
~

Inked up block and tools of the trade:
A brayer, ink, palette knife, and a barren
(or in this case, a bamboo rice paddle)
~
~

Rolling the inked up block and paper through the press
~
~

Pulling the print, the 'reveal'
~
~

Mounting the print on backboard to be framed

The final product.

shadow box style custom built frame
