One of the definitions of 'Oasis' is - something that provides refuge, relief, or pleasant contrast. In this original linocut print, Kean depicts the hollow-faced portion of a breaking wave, the barrel. This space on a wave is where most surfers yearn to be, it's an exhilarating experience to get barreled and make the wave. Kean hopes to share a bit of that feeling in this piece titled, 'Oasis.'
