'The Sugar Mill' Original Woodcut Print 12/20
The Waialua Sugar Mill and surrounding land are one of the North Shore of Oahu’s most iconic and historic locations. It was in operation from 1865 until 1996. The mill increased its production from 5,000 to 20,000 tons of sugar from 1900-1905. In the present day, the sugar mill is home to some of the world’s best surfboard shapers, local shops, and weekly farmer’s markets. In this artwork, Kean pays homage to the landmark in the form of a limited edition woodcut print titled, ‘The Sugar Mill.’
